Rapid DCS Partnership with BCIS

Rapid DCS are very pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with BCIS to work closely together to add value and complement each other’s products and services.

There are enormous synergies to be gained by both companies from this Partnership. Rapid DCS can enrich and deepen the data provision within their system ‘Sterling Cost & Carbon’ and BCIS can leverage the value of their rich and comprehensive data through a wider reach within the Sterling environment. This is a great win-win for both companies.

Sterling Cost & Carbon is a new web based take-off, estimating and Package Management system for cost and carbon quantities for the Built Environment.

BCIS  ‘Building Cost Information Service’  has recently spun out of RICS and is the leading provider of commercial data  to the UK Built Environment. BCIS indices are widely used and referred to as the source of authoritative information on UK building and infrastructure costs.

The two companies have agreed to make the BCIS data available to their clients through the Sterling platform and to capture new cost data to enhance the service through refining the detail and keeping the BCIS information current. This co-operation will make the data more detailed, robust and up to date.  Additionally, the data will be more accessible and add functionality, benchmarking and comparative statistical capabilities.

Steve Brunning CEO of Rapid DCS which owns Sterling Cost & Carbon said, “We are delighted to sign this agreement, I have known and worked on various technical committees for many years with many BCIS people, most notably James Fiske, and I am really excited to be working so closely with them all again to bring great benefits and transparency to the markets we have both served for so many years. We look forward to working closely together during the development of our Life Cycle Cost and Carbon, Benchmarking and Inflation Indices Modules”

James Fiske CEO of BCIS said “We see this as a tremendous opportunity for a win-win partnership to leverage our Data assets for the benefit of our clients. They will be able to access a new up to date source of our cost data  on a brand new platform and to see it all in real time.”
